Connecting Midas MR18, M-AIR-Edit, to Behringer X-Touch Mini (or with XR18, X-Air-Edit) using OSIMidi
An external midi controller can help to provide quick edits to audio using a Midas MR18 (or Behringer XR18)
I purchased a Midas MR18 to supplement a full track count of radio mics on a Midas M32. My iPad usually displays a show script and my laptop is used for triggering SFX using QLab, so recently I purchased a Behringer X-TOUCH MINI to make quick adjustments of the band levels without a screen. With 25-30 radio mics main band EQ and compression settings are predominantly done preshow.
Connecting a Behringer X-Touch to the Midas MR18 was not as simple as I expected.

I found:
- Basic X-Touch mapping to X-Air is PC only. I use a Mac which can map using OSImidi Stage software.
- The X-Touch Desktop Controller and X-Touch Compact connect via an ethernet cable
- The X-Touch Mini connects via USB and requires connection to a laptop that is connected to MR18 or XR18 via ethernet or wifi.
- I needed to purchase OSIMidi Stage software to make the connection and map the knobs, faders, and buttons. - YouTube demo link
Running the OsiMIDI software. (Link to OSIMidi)Because there are no faders on the X Touch mini the faders need to be mapped to the knobs. Do this by creating a faders-to-knobs button and just map the knobs to the left-right pans.
